Food for the French is a passion! Eating out is required part of French life. And this is rightfully so as the French have refined the art of cooking to extreme levels. While the gastronomic tastes of many French are unusual to many Americans they have dishes that should be tried and savored

Since this is all about the best restaurant in Provence I should point out that I will not pick the best one of the lot that I selected. The reason is that this subject may be a bit too controversial to say that one restaurant is far superior to any other. Rather you should try and take in all of the various nuances that each restaurant offers and pick the one you like based upon your impressions after visiting them.

Auberge St Roch
Quartier St Roch
84190 Beaumes de Venise
Tél: 0(4) 90 65 08 21

This is a small restaurant located in a very unpretentious hotel. Having a very small terrace that is better enjoyed in the evening this restaurant offered a good introduction to the cosine of the area.

Le Clos du Pâtre
84330 Caromb
Tél: 0(4) 90 62 38 49

A small family run restaurant that is on the edge of the village of Caromb. Since this is a family run restaurant you can pretty much be ashured that the service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. I would point out that this restaurant is not necessarily suited for small children but if they are well behaved they will get along great with the staff here.

Le Mas de Garrigon
Route de St-Saturnin d’Apt
84220 Roussillon
Tel 04 90 05 63 22

Located in a small luxury hotel that is quite a distance from just about anywhere. The food and service here is quite good but the prices are moderate to expensive.

L’Oustalet Maianen
16 rue Lamartine
13910 Maillane
Tel: (0)4 90 95 74 60

This is a small restaurant in a very small village in Provence. The food and service is great and the restaurant is also family friendly as well.

Pizzeria des Remparts
32 Boulevard des Remparts
84110 Sablet
Tel: 0(4) 90 49 96 17

This is a restaurant for those that have kids in tow. A menu that is very friendly to a family atmosphere with Pizza’s and chips being a large part of the menu. You do not have to order such items as they also serve many adult dishes such as slow roasted lamb and braised steaks with French fiies.

Each family have their own needs so I tried to point out some of the best restaurants in the region of Provence. It all depends upon what your price is and if you have kids or not where you are going to find the best restaurant for you and your family. Hopefully this guide will help a little.
